London-based John Dougherty was the vocalist and songwriter for The Whole World and Calvin, and a lead vocalist for Colla Voce. This is classy singer/songwriter stuff - high quality production - spare instrumentation (acoustic guitar, strings, recorder, accordion). The lyrics are on the website. Such poetry benefits from being to hand in the sleevenotes, but I understand about shoestring budgets! John's voice reminds me of someone - I think it's James Taylor, whom he lists as an influence. Definitely an album to listen to when you feel mellow, it's late and there's a glass of something in your hand. Lovely stuff.
