Whether you recognise the name John Gibson or not (and you should if you're a regular CR reader - check CR18) you will probably have sung at least one of his songs - "Jesus We Celebrate Your Victory" or "You're Worthy". This songbook, a companion to his debut album, features these two and eight others that showcase the range of his songwriting. The "party feel" of "Jesus We Celebrate..." can be found in "I'm Gonna Rejoice", "I Can Hear It" and "Jubilee", while "Perfect Love Of God" and "You Heard Jesus Cry" demonstrate his more contemplative side. The songs are arranged for piano, rather than SATB, and guitar though the chords have the distinct look of the keyboard player about them. So, if you're fed up with having to fork out upwards of £20 just to get hold of the music for a couple of new songs then Neighbours For Nations should give you plenty to work on at a bargain price, other writers please take note.
