John P Kee has played a major part in over 20 albums now, and this is his 10th with NLCC, the choir he founded in North Carolina. The Prince (hence the "P") has already received multiple awards, and most likely he has not had his last yet. "Right Now Praise" is the full bodied opener and provides a bursting brass section, colossal sounding choir, a popping bass line, funky guitars and multiple layers of organ, piano and synth. It has the energy of a tornado and the power to wake even the most slumbersome of students on a Saturday morning. Fred Hammond guests on the second track, "Oh Lord, Our God" but that is of little consequence compared to the performance of soloist Maranda Curtis: she really sings her heart out on "Glorious Is Thy Name" and "No Greater Love". There are no fancy frills and skills with this production: just great songwriting (mostly by Kee), awesome singing and playing (Kee on keys), and all repeatable in a live setting. It has a "classic" gospel sound and feel, with mostly uptempo and uplifting numbers: if you're not smiling and at least clapping your hands and stomping your feet by the end of "Come On Let's Worship", then you are an amoeba. But it's not quite an unmissable classic: I'm sure John P is capable of still more.

Product Description
Founded in Charlotte, North Carolina, during the mid 80s and now with eight albums and multiple awards behind them, the New Life Community Church Choir featuring John P Kee are considered one of the most influential choirs to ever grace gospel music.
'Nothing But Worship', the latest release from NLCC, featuring “The Prince Of Gospel” himself, John P Kee, continue the legacy of rousing, energetic praise anthems and stirring, heart-felt worship ballads, both of which have become synonymous with this, the most celebrated choir in gospel music. 'Nothing But Worship' is filled with all original songs either written or co-written by John P Kee. Kee shows why he is one of the pioneers of contemporary gospel music, and why he is still revered as one of the most phenomenal singers/ songwriters/producers of our time.
The recurring themes running throughout 'Nothing But Worship' are the very adjectives used to define its genre: praise & worship. Songs like 'He’s Alive' and 'Right Now Praise' render celebratory and victorious praise, while selections 'Welcome', 'Lord I Want To Live For You', 'I Made A Vow' and 'Prepare Your Hearts' are wrenched with sincere worship. Kee is known for his transparent ministry and or writing and ministering songs from his heart, and this is very apparent throughout 'Nothing But Worship'. The New Life Community Choir calls the church of the same name, pastored by Kee, home. Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Kee and New Life have become a beacon of light in the midst of that community. A champion of philanthropy and outreach, Kee and his congregation consistenly make their ministry tangible, implementing the very principles that they sing about.
