Here's a follow up to his debut EP 'Careless Dreams' and the chance to check out more new music from this Coventry singer/songwriter. Wright has a knack for creating catchy melodies and with the help of the Raindance team of Chris Smith and Nic Burrows, the results are a catchy delight. The title track is a mid-tempo piece of pop with a nice groove and great harmonies edging towards blue-eyed soul territory. "Listen" is a slightly slower, gentler acoustic-based track with equal amounts of soulfulness. "There Has To Be A Reason" takes the tempo down a further notch with more introspection and a gorgeous ballad. The EP closes with a remix of the title cut from John's debut EP and the resulting washes of synth and understated rhythms add plenty of vibe to a great song. He recently won a GEM award for the best newcomer which must have been an encouragement! So there's plenty of promise here and I'm looking forward to hearing the album!
