Ever since Tomlin, Redman et al first established a new modern worship technique of taking a fragment (or a lot) of a much-loved hymn or carol, adding some of their own music and lyrics and in the process creating a "new" worship song/hymn hybrid, the practice has exploded. Now this married couple from Nashville have reworked the hymn by Philip F Hiller which is based on the carol "O Christmas Tree". This free single proves to be a pretty good calling card for an album which, no doubt, will follow in 2016. Jordan's voice is adequate, Jessa's memorable (there will be some readers who picked up on Jessa's solo albums of 2008, 2011, and 2014). Clearly, this couple have much to offer even to a music-saturated, Christmas song-gorged church.
