This is radio friendly American pop rock in the vein of Steven Curtis Chapman, so it shouldn't surprise you that Josh is currently (September 2011) Stephen's support act. Josh has had a few tracks from previous albums that have had a decent amount of radio play, and the track "'I Refuse" is proving the success from this album. With an upbeat acoustic guitar and piano melody line, the song strikes an idealistic chord with any Christian wanting to dutifully follow God's calling on their life. The contrast is the title track which tells of the death of a baby, the mother's tears and then questioning where God is when our nightmares come true. What is interesting is that Josh takes a negative such as "I Refuse" or "I Don't See You" and turns it into a positive, which is something God is expert at. There is a lot of God in the lyrics of these songs. "Forest Fire" starts with some clever use of the sounds effects of matches and a lighter, but fans the flame of the Holy Spirit into a fire. The disappointment was an instrumental version of "It Is Well" which seemed a waste compared to having a vocal version, and a repeat of a mistake on the last album. But overall this is well crafted, if rather generic, Nashville CCM.
