Josquin Des Prez stands at the close of the Middle Ages and was responsible for significant changes in western music, particularly with his innovative use of harmony. This is the Clerks' Group's second Josquin album but is nevertheless an excellent starting point for those who are unfamiliar with this composer and indeed with the Clerks' Group. Also included is "Tout A Par Moy" by Walter Frye that Josquin adapted and which makes for an interesting comparison. Read the helpful notes to find out more.
