Thank you crossrhythms staff for adding this classic lp to the evergrowing ccm. I have this vinyl album; glad to have it in my huge ccm collection. I had heard the well known song "Trumpet of JESUS": recorded by the Imperials on their 1980 "Priority" lp. This 7 member group's cover version was a top ten song of ccm in 1981: I actually prefer Joysongs' recording.
"Trumpet of JESUS" is most definitely the albums' best cover!: the music is peppy, to lift you up. Most of the songs on this album are cover versions of top ccm artists radio hit songs! The opening song "Never Turnin' Back" fairs ok. The lead vocals for Keith Thomas' "Farther & Higher" are commendable;
another fair recording. This group will always be
remembered for "Trumpet of JESUS" song.
