If you are looking for an album which will have you strangely hooked throughout, then this is it. Ronnie Martin, aka Joy Electric, has done himself proud as he hits double figures for album releases with this slightly more minimal effort. His dedication to the analog synthesizer continues to move as sparse but beautiful compositions will float from your speakers and fill the room with complex yet relaxing melodies. The album is full of songs with lyrics full of complex concepts and emotive images which will keep you musing for many hours. Standout tracks here are "Victorian Intuition/Father Winter Replies", "Only Copernicus" and "I Recall The Telephone Booth". It is not only the intricate crafting of words which will keep you entranced, the haunting sounds of the Moog synthesizer demonstrate Ronnie still has complete mastery over his tools, forming melodies which will require multiple listens in order to catch every last drop of emotion. Overall, a delight for any lover of electro-pop.
