Sometimes when the word "demo" appears on a cassette or CD sleeve, the perpetrator of the alburn is either being honest or modest. On the other hand, far too many projects have pretentions far above their actual quality. Let me say from the outset that this particular collection of demos is a cut above the average, having been recorded in Chapel Lane Studios, Hereford and the Loco Studios in Usk, South Wales. Sometimes Juan warbles away with just a piano accompaniment, at other times there's a laid-back band giving sympathetic support. The songs are largely self-penned and well crafted on the whole, with interesting tunes and cliche-free lyrics; there are one or two covers, the old Wayne Watson opus "The Touch Of The Master's Hand" is here, as is "Spirit Wings", as done by Joni Eareckson Tada in the 80s; and the CD is good value at over 69 minutes. My only problem is with Juan's singing. Pitchwise, he's a tenor, but his voice has a slightly nasal quality with a rock singer's attack (Juan was once a bit of a star in Welsh language pop) and occasionally he has problems with the very top and the very bottom notes. Nevertheless, these are relatively minor quibbles and, given a decent budget Juan could make a great record. If this sort of easy going music is your scene, you might like to look this one out, particularly as part of the proceeds of each sale will go to a hospice in Kidderminster.

I absolutly love the song about the violin but i can't remember the name. We filled an entire whiteboard with comments for this guy before he left and we were well gutted to have him leave. Just wanted to say that everyone from glyngear primary ms.jones' class (class 12) 2000-01 still love you you rok dude.
