This band has been gigging in one manifestation or another around the South Coast area since 1986. Core members all through that time have been brothers James and Tony Chasteauneuf, and Jube was born in June 1995, Joseph Saville on bass and Steve Thurley on lead guitar arriving to back up James' rhythm guitar and Tony's drums. That line-up sounds as if they're the usual sort of guitar-driven pop/rock band, but on this 17-track, 68 minute CD there's flute and violin, harmonica, pedal steel and slide guitar, piano and keyboards added at various times. Stylistically there's all sorts from pop and rock to ambient and blues, but despite the plethora of material, this suffers from some of the same problems that I found when I reviewed their previous release 'Elation' in CR52: a rather flat mix, not particularly memorable songs, and occasionally wobbly vocals. I expect that they're much better than this live.
