Julie Dunn is a singer/songwriter from South-West England and this is her debut album. Julie has a long musical history in various traditions (world, blues, Latin) which all show through on the songs on this CD. For an independent release, this is well produced and played - it feels fresh and vibrant. Sometimes, Julie's voice and the combined vibe remind me of efforts from the likes of Groove Armada or Moloko which is definitely a good thing; other times, proceedings feel very slightly twee. That said, this is quite new ground for the world of Christian music, as far as I can see. This is a quality piece of work from a very talented and experienced performer.
