Like a number of people who saw Lifeline win the New Rhythms contest at the 1992 Cross Rhythms Festival I wonder how long we're going to have to wait for the promised Lifeline album (Alright, alright, we're working on it. Ed). But in the meantime, Lifeline's lead singer/guitarist/composer has come up with this budget line solo set. In truth it sounds very like a set of Lifeline demos, the same blue-eyed soul sensibilities from Keith, with some reasonable drum programming and synth work and some grooves that get quietly funky without really kicking. I liked Keith's acoustic ballad "Trust In You" and "Beautiful Child" was to my ears the best song on the set. But overall despite the quality of Keith's voice and his way with a song hook, the skeletal nature of some of these arrangements marred enjoyment.
