Take a look on You Tube at Katie singing the first track "Isaiah 55": it's a real treat. A really gorgeous, relaxed voice, singing Bible-based lyrics, with high class production. Her all-girl band is sweet on the ears and eyes, too, as Katie gives us her take on this most inspirational of Scriptures. On this debut download EP the Nashville-based singer/songwriter's light, attractive vocals instantly drew my attention, but by the second play I was recognising these songs have some seriously catchy choruses too. "Amazing God" has the same successful formula as the first track, with its busy guitar work, strong beat and sharp vocal lines. "Beautiful Jesus" slows the pace a little and this pretty, intimate, quieter offering is a love song pure and simple. "Wonderful To Me" is a strong song, though rather marred by the curious buzzing behind the chorus while "Back To You" reveals Katie's own search for intimacy with God. Katie is a cognitive behavioural therapist and her songs reflect her belief that everyone can "understand and embrace their uniqueness and identity". She is also the daughter of worship leader Gerrit Gustafson and judging from the strength of this John Hartley produced debut, could well make a name for herself even in the crowded worship music arena.
