Over the years the ancient evangelical gathering in the Cumbria countryside have gradually embraced modern worship though less so the rock music end of things. In fact, it's modern hymnist Stuart Townend who brings in most of the modern sounds and his approach, with some deft banjo work from son Eden and some Celtic sounding whistles from Bob McKay is obviously more folk than rock. Elsewhere here worship leaders Steve James and Colin Webster with their respective bands do a reasonable job in updating hymnody. So if you want rousing anthemic versions of "Holy Holy Holy", "Jesus, Lover Of My Soul", "All Hail The Power Of Jesus' Name" and "It Is Well With My Soul" these stirring renditions connect fairly well. Nothing groundbreaking of course, but then Keswick worship is more restrained entity than you'll hear at other events.
