If you like your gospel music in the style of Jamiroquai then this could be up your street, and there are definite strengths on display, notably in the vocals department. An outstanding choral performance leaves the listener in no doubt of the competence of this collective from the Elvis heartland of Tennessee; the musicians are good and production crisp. This leaves us with the little matter of the material itself, which unfortunately is a let-down. You can only embellish weak songs so much, and at the end of the day Jamiroquai's JK's success is down to strong songwriting in the jazz-funk genre. You feel he would wince at this attempt of mixing gospel in his turf. It's a shame for such talent to serve up such a meagre dish, but there we have it....this is dressed up dross.
