I've been a little hard on the recent batch of country albums, but as the controller of STV said when he was asked why he had axed a certain Scottish country show, "I didn't do it because I hate country music.l did it 'cause I love it!". Would a Christian ever release a country album that would please these critical lugholes? Can Horner be happy? Will Samuel smile again?...Look no further...Kim Hill has at last given me the country album that I've been waiting for. Kim is of course no stranger to CCM and a kinda country feel could be seen in recent recordings (remember "Snake In The Grass"? Great stuff!), but here she goes right down that ol' hillbilly highway to bring us new country as good as it gets. A lot of songs about love and relationships and a little less directly 'gospel' than previous albums, but in a style of music that often glorifies fairly immoral themes, Kim's music has a perfect Christian perspective on the theme of giving true love. Great songs, great singing, great playing, great production, heavens above what's happening to me, I even like the album sleeve!
