American worship leaders Quilala, Walker and Wise are part of a movement called Jesus Culture which seeks to raise up a generation of revivalists and this release, recorded live at a recent conference in California, showcases the trio's unswerving passion for their cause. The three worship leaders alternate the lead vocal duties backed by a five piece house band who succeed in creating an enormous sound. First up is Kim Walker who cuts an intriguing figure as she bounces on the spot, speaks in tongues and loses herself in worship throughout. Her intensity, coupled with a fervent vocal style, takes songs such as the title track and Hillsong's "All I Need" to a different level and her offerings are the highlight of this release. Elsewhere, Melissa Wise's set includes her take on the Delirious? song "Rain Down" whilst Chris Quilala leads the crowd with his versions of "Your Love Is Everything" (Chris McClarney) and "Fire Fall Down" (Hillsong). Unfortunately, there is a lack of variety here and the constant driving guitar and pounding drums style of each song gets to you after a while - especially since the majority of the tracks are well over six minutes long. Nonetheless, a competent release much aided by the expertly shot DVD of the same worship time.
