Kingdom, a six-piece band from Destiny Church in Rocklin, California, and this album offers 10 studio recordings of new songs, three remixes plus three live tracks. Kicking off with a stomping drum-dominated track "At The Sound", its anthemic chorus, proclaiming the power of God sounds even better on the live version later on the album. In truth, the sound and stylistic approach of Kingdom do not vary much thereafter. Standard, positive praise and worship lyrics are set against guitar-based rock riffs in a similar vein to many other US bands. Some variety does ensue particularly when a female lead vocal and keyboards appear. "Salvation Song" also shows that Kingdom can cut a different groove, as acoustic guitar leads off and a glockenspiel accompanies the Coldplay-like backing vocals. An oddity creeps in when the old hymn "Nothing But The Blood" is given a synthesizer-led reworking. This song also appears as a remix later, both versions showing the band can be more individualistic than at first indicated. But overall there is simply too much here which is generically predictable to suggest this will be heard much beyond the confines of Rocklin.
