It can be a challenge to find out about a band, especially if they are unsigned. Kingsdown are a hard rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas that formed in 2003. There is little background information on them, but I have tracked down that they previously released an EP in 2005 called 'The Scenario We Know So Well'. This project was produced by Grammy nominated Travis Wyrick (P.O.D., Pillar). "Callin' Everybody" is a powerful opener, an irrepressible blast of feel-good hard rock with an instant sing-along chorus, "Calling everybody, step in the lights/And show a little love if you feel alright/Shake a little more/Every boy grab a girl/And we'll take on the world". The pace slows for the smouldering "Six Gun Cinderella" which fuels the imagination with "Hundred dollar bills and glass on her heels/Trying hard to keep her out of trouble and pills". Further in "Is It Any Wonder" starts off with gently strummed guitar for a ballad that slowly builds to a crescendo of riffing. Then they hit you with the raucous "Welcome To The Show" and staccato riffing of "With Love And Squalor". There is an unlisted 11th track which consists of stripped down guitar and quivering vocals. After all the blustering rock bravado it is heart-rendingly touching as they reflect upon the infinite grace of God.
