Reviewed by George Luke

When George Michael released his first "best of" compilation (the dubiously titled 'Ladies & Gentlemen') a few years ago, he named one disc 'For The Heart' and the other 'For The Feet'. This CD would be Kirk's 'For The Heart' disc. As he says at the beginning, the songs featured here are "a collection of songs from the last 10 years that have been my testimony to the beautiful struggle of necessary storms in my life." Storms, Kirk informs us, are a confirmation that we are flowers the Father has planted and desires to grow, and are necessary for our growth and development. And with that, we embark on a nostalgic trawl through Kirk's back catalogue and his many incarnations: as a solo artist; as leader of The Family; as the man who introduced us to God's Property, and as the brains behind the One Nation Crew (where are they now, I ask myself?). Songs featured include "Melodies From Heaven" (recorded with The Family), "The Storm Is Over Now" (with God's Property) and "When You Fall" (with the One Nation Crew), interspersed with brief introductory homilies from Kirk. It's all very nice - but bring on the 'For The Feet' collection; I wanna Stomp!

He's an annoited man of God called to deliver God's word through music. He's my favourite gospel artist of all time.

I think Kirk's music ministry is teaching the church to 'go out' into the world rather than calling the world to 'come in'. I think thats what Jesus said to do! His music is fantastic.
