I was hooked from the first strains of the uplifting voices on the lead-off track, "Magnify The Lord", with its live recording atmosphere. When the down tempo "Surely God Is Able", with its magnificent testifying and vocal interplay came on, I was sold. The groovy "What A God", with its chorus adapting the recent Salt N Pepa hit "Whattaman", pricked up my ears at the musical versatility - traditional Baptist choir styles, modern up tempo R&B, down tempo ballads, but all praising the Lord at every turn. The lyrics and sweet vocal harmonies on the down tempo "To Make You So Strong" is enough to sweep the blues off any depressed person, making them believe, as the song says, "your trials will make you strong". By the half way mark, with "You Always Make A Way" sounding like one of the Sounds Of Blackness singles, it seemed best just to give this album a 10 and a succinct review which simply said - "If you're into gospel music, no matter what style, this will touch base with you - buy it and enjoy magnificent music and voices rejoicing in a magnifying the Lord." Many repeated plays later I still believe it.
