Going strong after his recent comeback, America's veteran gospel composer and performer Kurt Carr is here with his continually praising God Singers in a live double CD set. The arrangements and the singing are both top notch. In fact I was very impressed when on the opening of the second CD when the gospel veteran is surprisingly joined by Avalon to produce a pop flavoured item, "My Shepherd" - inspired by Psalm 23. Overall, this is neatly executed traditional Sunday morning music, though on occasions the slick theatricality is a little overdone with perhaps too many solos and performance pieces. Nevertheless there are some brilliant songs in this collection.

Product Description
Singer, songwriter, producer and musician Kurt Carr is one of the most celebrated talents of our time. He has been responsible for some of the most well-known Gospel songs, including 'The Presence of The Lord', 'In The Sanctuary' and 'God Great God', to name just a few.
'Its just good church music,' Kurt explains. 'The One Church album was a thematic album; it was a stretch. We had bagpipes, accordion sounds that have never been associated with Gospel music. The songs on 'Just The Beginning' are very singer-friendly, very congregational. This time, I’m going back to my roots.'
Backed again by his incomparable singers, 'Just The Beginning' was recorded live at the Christ Temple of Deliverance Church near Houston, Texas.
