Reviewed by Ian Webber The Oregon-based rockers have followed a pattern of releases, mixing full on rock albums with softer worship offerings. This, their second worship set, follows their first, by once again coming out in an extended edition. Comparably, 'It Is Well' is a much more enjoyable listen than 'Strong Tower' with this young group sticking closer to their rock credentials. The title track, "Taken By Love" and "You Save Me" all build powerfully and reflect what is good about Kutless, namely solid bass lines that underpin overdriven guitars. I also enjoyed the Keith Green medley, "Redeemer" which was reflective and cleverly linked together. Having said this however, the project was in truth, still a little flat and the bonus extension material did not really add to the overall experience. Of the five extra tracks, there is one new studio recording, three live tracks and the acoustic "Remember Me". Once again each track is well played and produced to a high standard, but you cannot help feeling that a band such as this could be more creative and innovative in a genre that is saturated with rock worship albums.

Kutless’ follow up album to gold selling worship release Strong Tower. It Is Well features several brand new singles such as What Faith Can Do, Amazed, and favourites such as Hungry, Give Us Clean Hands, and God of Wonders. The heart of worship is something the band as a whole is very intune with and love bringing that to the forefront, sharing and coming together as one to give glory to God. |
