The ex-lead singer of the Anointed Pace Sisters ably demonstrates that the gospel scene still has plenty of divas with awesome vocal technique. LaShaun kicks off with "It's My Time", which could easily grace a garage or R&B dance-floor. Once she hooks with that upbeat track, she goes down-tempo to deliver the gospel with "For My Good", which builds to a powerful crescendo towards the end. The video of this track's is available on the enhanced CD. "Hey" is like one of those Mary Mary crossover gospel tracks. Feel like church? LaShaun brings the church to you with the impassioned "Emotions". Ends with the seemingly auto-biographical "Through Her Eyes", featuring her son, on which they turn to the Lord despite the difficulties of a single parent household. Certainly one of the best albums around: fast, slow, spiritual, social, secular-pleasing, or Church-rooted, LaShaun has it beautifully covered.
