The Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, with over 30,000 attendees, is reported to be the largest evangelical church in the US. Certainly, it's a place of atmospheric live recordings with Michael W Smith for one having recorded there. This compilation has a sleeve which lacks information as to how it was sourced but I can report that both Israel Houghton and Cindy Cruse Ratcliff are both clearly in evidence. The material ranges from Bill & Gloria Gaither's "There's Just Something About That Name" oldie through to Houghton and Ratcliff originals with the old hymn "Oh How I Love Jesus" thrown in for good measure. The musical elements here range from pop to black gospel with the latter sound dominating. Some may find the whole sound a little overblown but there's no doubting the professionalism of the singers and musos.
