Right from the first slap of a thumping fat bass line you and your elderly grandmother will be out of your seats worshipping, and with a band and album title like that, I think that is their very intention. Lamar Campbell became a music director of a church when he was 15, and for the better part of the last two decades he has been the music minister of several Indianapolis churches, including Light Of The World Christian Church, where he currently serves as musical director. There is an array of different worship leaders bringing a refreshing diversity to the theme. It actually sounds more like a ‘best of’ compilation than from a solitary source. This is the 15-voice ensemble’s fifth release, and what is remarkable is how successfully they have merged classic gospel style with up-to-date R&B funk instrumentation. The success of this is that it will get fashion conscious teenagers and their parents worshipping at the same time; a sign of a great church.
