Don't be fooled by its unintentionally sarky title, this five track EP from South Carolina-based singer/songwriter Laura Story is an unwaveringly positive collection of faith-themed songs despite some worrying times for the singer in relation to her family's health, as set out in the accompanying book of the same name. Instead of throwing in the towel, the title track of course talks about handing one's life to God in surrender and this theme continues throughout the rest of this short but sweet release with the anthemic opener "Not My Life" - co-written with fellow CCM bigwigs Phil Wickham and Francesca Battistelli - and the stirring "Nearness" being cases in point. Story's accomplished vocal delivery, the polished production of this EP and some top notch songwriting makes this yet another quality addition to the award-winning artist's ever-burgeoning canon of work.
