This is the debut release from a Nashville-based artist who aims to speak to women from the depths of real life, the album title celebrating the differences, all beautiful. Produced by Otto Price (Michael W Smith, For King & Country), this has a contemporary, power pop feel and vocal style, especially on tracks like "Everything", similar stylistically to Katy Perry in many ways. One of my favourites on the album, "Treasure", is a reflection on people who are "present but absent" as they chase treasures but there has to be more - "Material things won't do it for me," Lauren sings. There is also an interesting version of the Hillsong gem, "What A Beautiful Name", which suits Lauren's voice beautifully over a modern guitar/keyboard/drum accompaniment. I thoroughly enjoyed this debut and I look forward to what this powerful communicator will follow this up with in the future. Meanwhile there is a lot to enjoy here.
