As you know dudes, cats have nine lives. So even though Carman's new EMI recording contract means he can't carry on laying it down streetwise like he did on 'Yo Kidz', the character Carman gave the gospel to on his classic kids album (Lawrence The Kat played by Michael Anthony Taylor) lives on thanks to another funky dude producer Chris Harris. Chris lays down some pretty slamming grooves and though the album isn't quite 'A Hip-Hop Account Of The Sermon On The Mount' the sleeve promises, the raps are hot, the dialogue amusing (Lawrence the Kat has all kinds of adventures and mishaps as he attempts to memorise the said sermon) and there are some good lead vocals from Michael Anthony Taylor, David Mullen and the delicious Lisa Bevill. My kids love it, I love it and if I had a dog he'd go barking mad.
