28 year old singer/songwriter Lee Myers is no angry young man. He's a guitarist and singer of the old school, rather like John Michael Talbot or Michael Card, and there's definitely a touch of the "70s in some of his arrangements. Joined by his sister, Louise, on backing vocals, their harmonies sometimes remind me of Parchment, or the Irish group Bohinta. Louise also plays whistles on some tracks. Sweet and soothing, they add a lightly folky feel, not unlike lona in their quietest moments and I could imagine Phil And John singing some of these songs. The weakest link is the lyrics, which at limes are slightly uninspired or cliched. but they're so well sung and the accompaniments so sensitive you forgive him. Having come to expect tortured souls battling with life's adversities, here's someone who has found some peace amid his (troubles. 13 songs of faith, hope, sorrow, longing and joy that kind of grow on you. Probably best listened to by candlelight, in front of an open fire, at the end of a hard day. If Lee can find a more contemporary sound and sharpens up his lyrical wordplay, he could he a name to watch out for in the future.

good evening, i have just read the review, very accurate in places ,having seen lee (& the family ) go to hell and back several times,i fully understand his way of writing, he needed to put to paper what was in his heart, which comes out in his music, louise is also a talented writer and very strong singer again she write from the heart, no slushy stuff just raw feelings, being their mother and knowing why they write that way, means i fully support them and their way and talent, but make no mistake i also tell them if i think they are writing badly.they will never be big names in the writing field because you can actually hear what they are singing and its not a horrible noise like todays so called singers.
