This is the debut offering from a band causing quite a stir in West Yorkshire recently and what a good start it is too! Displaying a varied range of styles they are, perhaps, at their best in a Magnum sort of way. "Ships In The Night" and "Jagged Edge" are simple, well written songs which excite the audiende, while "Understand Why" has the best, catchy chorus. "Clothed In Flesh" is a lengthier number that doesn't quite hold together, while the Metallica cloned "Gogotha" had me reaching for the fast forward button. Those hiccoughs aside, I was hooked by Lifeline's rendition of "Lord Of The Dance" and their melodic "Set My Heart Aflame". Forget the muddy "live" sound and the irritating lack of cassette label; this is a good band in the making.
