On listening to 'Knock' it soon becomes obvious that Lorraine Peters has a voice of some considerable power and range. The songs are a mixture between established praise songs like 'None Like You', 'Standing On Holy Ground' and 'Banner Over Me (Father I Adore You)', self-penned or co-written material and new a song from Rupert Gayle, 'I Surrender My Life', possibly the best cut on the album. The overall feel ids of contempry R&B with excursions into neo-Gregorian acappella and rap. What really lets this album down badly is the backing; up tempo numbers lack the punch or power that one expects and the voice, though good, is left too exposed. The slower numbers rely too much on echo/reverb to get their effect.
