The Lost Dogs are, of course, that famed collaboration of Terry Taylor (Daniel Amos), Derri Daugherty (The Choir) and Michael Roe (The 77s). This 2006 album sees a return to their more playful, upbeat and fun side with the band moving between folk roots, Americana and occasional blues flavourings with the warmth and intuitive bonhomie that only comes with session-seasoned veterans playing for the sheer joy of it. The result is one of their most accomplished albums to date. Steve Hindalong (The Choir) has been brought in as drummer and co-producer and the sound, as usual, is engagingly eclectic. There is also good variety in tempo and dynamic throughout the album meaning it never gets boring. Stand outs include the country rocker "Get Me Ready" and the reflective country and western ballad "One More Day" while lyrically there is considerable wit shown on "Only One Bum In Corona Del Mar" and bold faith on "That's Where Jesus Is".

I'm happy that you reviewed this Cd of one of my all time
favourit bands. They have a lot of humour and Jesus shines
through them and they are also very good musician and
songwriters.
I hope one day Crossrhythms will make an article about
Terry Taylor who made so much amazing music from his early
Jesus music days to the alternative music of Daniel Amos and
the Swirling Eddies and the americana music of the Lost Dogs
and funny music for videogames for children.
(Imaginerium)
There is also a christmas album by the Lost Dogs and next
year there will be an album and a dvd about there adventures
trip on Route 66.
