An instrumental album from this north country trio, but regretfully they've produced the musical equivalent of a slightly underdone Yorkshire pudding - soggy at the edges and, to be honest, somewhat unappetising. 'Burning Daylight' lacks any real focus and, more crucially, contains only a couple of discernable tunes, which is something of a disadvantage in this genre. Some spirited lead guitar on part two of the title track suddenly brings the whole affair to life and gives the CD the voice it lacks elsewhere, but it's 10 tracks in, out of 11, and is too little, too late, merely leaving this reviewer wondering what might have been had the remaining tracks had half as much energy. Unreserved praise can, however, be given to the cover art, which is excellent - for best results, admire the cover of 'Burning Daylight' whilst playing Tubular Bells'.
