This is the first mainstream release from the Virginia Beach five-piece after two critically acclaimed outings for Tooth & Nail. Since the recording of this 2006 album, the band have lost two members who have left to pursue other projects. It's in your face energetic rock music which reminds me sometimes of REM in their rockier moments, whilst the band cite U2 among their influences. "Brink Of Disaster" kicks things off with its swirling keyboard sound. The Michael Stipe vibe comes through on "Crazy". The band go punk on "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (Pardon?). Although the band are Christians they have in the past gone to some lengths to say that they are not a "Christian Band". They claim to be trying to capture the energy of '90s rock bands. It's certainly music to be listened to with the stereo volume cranked up. You want to read the lyrics? I believe they are there, but you will need a microscope to see them.
