The American singer, with her heartfelt style which crosses both inspi­rational and pop rock genres, is possibly not quite as popular today as a few years ago though she still retains a sizable UK following. This, Margaret's 10th album, is a classy blend of pop, jazz, folk and soul. For me, the album doesn't quite have the sparkle of some of those recordings Charlie Peacock produced for Margaret a few years ago and although the production by Tedd Tjornhom fits Margaret's breathy tones it fails to bring out her distinctiveness as a songwriter. However,I quibble. Margaret's fans will no doubt welcome this release.
