Another in the worthwhile series of country gospel legends compiled by genuine knowledgeable fan Paul Davis. Compared to such as Pat Boone, Burl Ives, Tennessee Ernie Ford etc in the series, Marijohn might be lesser known but her songwriting and rare but excellent recordings warrant her inclusion. If you have hard of her, it's probably as the writer of the title song, which was a major pop chart success. It was one of those songs that everyone professed to hate and went around humming. These 21 songs are all her own work, so we are spared yet another trudge over well worn paths. The fine band including stalwarts Buddy Spicher, Johnny Gimble, Charlie McCoy and Fred Carter complement the artist's warm, rich voice superbly, making this an enjoyable listening experience lasting 73 minutes.
