Look, let's come clean.  Marilyn has blessed tens of thousands of people in the UK were her musical ministry and her albums are guaranteed huge sellers in the UK's Christian bookshops.  But Marilyn has also delivered some real vinyl clankers down the years (remember that appalling live album?) and she's long needed a producer who could stop her sounding pedestrian and uninvolved and guidance with her songwriting which has produced some superlative stuff ("Lord You're Changing Me") but which often teeters into the creative abyss of banality.  Hen then is good news for Marilyn enthusiasts.  'A New Beginning is far and away the dear sister's best album with truly sympathetic production work from MOR maestro Gordon Lorenz and several songs moving towards a praise and worship direction - always her greatest strength. If you like Marilyn, you'll love this.
