EPs are a mixed bag. Although they give you a good taste for the artist, and enough to determine whether it's worth following them further, I often complain (as in this case) that they're just too short. This is the first recorded output from the Mark Ferguson Band and it is extremely promising. Guitarist and keyboard player Mark has been a worship leader and singer/songwriter for many years prior to forming the band and his considerable experience is evident through the maturity of the music. As the strong "Happy Day"-style opener "Even If The Heavens" will show this is essentially rock praise, but it is equally unafraid to retreat to intimate worship, such as in the tender, beautifully shaped and quite brilliant "In The Quiet". The band is good as well with each instrument sensitive to the others. Laura Andrews' soft and distinctive voice brings a fantastic contrast to Mark's well controlled vocals, which are a little reminiscent of Lou Reed. If they can produce more of what they've done here in the future, by God's grace the Mark Ferguson Band will go a long way.

Incredible band. You just know they'll go places. Definitely make a point of seeing them live.

What an encouraging review for the EP! And you have GOT to hear them live!!!

It has been an absolute priviledge witnessing this amazingly talented band grow from strength to strength over the past few years. And such a humble bunch of guys too!

Watch this space - they are a gift from God.

Matt (my drummer boy!) - i love you ...

Amazingly gifted band. Strange thing is, they're even better live! And there is plenty of new material which doesn't feature on this EP that is equally as, if not more, impressive.

Definately one to watch.

For such a small town band who seemed to just go along with life and let it take its course, this is an encouraging review. I need that EP!!! lol =)
