Mark is best known as a member of the groundbreaking Audacious worship team (originally in Sheffield, now based in Manchester). This album, recorded at Worcester's The Session Rooms, shows him to be a thought provoking songsmith. The album kicks off with Springsteen-esque anthem "This Is Your Life" with soaring electric guitars while "I Had Everything" boasts beautiful acoustic picking. The unusual chord structure and sweet backing vocals in "Lonely People" will repeat in your head for hours. Unfortunately, the great melodies and inspiring lyrics are overshadowed by poor production. I would call the album pop rock but it doesn't have the best of productions with the clashing violins and unsynchronised instruments so that even the up-beat songs feel a little lifeless. There is a lot of potential for this songsmith, but one has to think a more experienced producer would have utilised the musicians' talents more successfully.
