Solid, passionate gospel is the hallmark of this recording by a Detroit-based worship leader and singer. Mark (or LaMark, as in the biographical notes that came with the CD) has assembled a pretty good vocal and instrumental group in 1-A-Chord. Quality musicianship shines through from the opening track right up to the end. Gorgeous piano and guitar parts are layered on solid bass and drum riffs, with a variety of R&B-tinged gospel styles through the album. The message is simple - God is real and in Christ he has saved us - this Christ is our friend, so let's sing about it! The album leaves you in no doubt that God is worthy of our praise and we have good reason to rejoice. The vocals are very good indeed, with all the members of the 1-A-Chord group, I counted 17 on the liner notes, taking a full part alongside Holley, who himself has won many awards for his singing abilities. An album to inspire praise.
