A very professionally produced DVD capturing the highlights of Mark Lowry's slick stage show in Hollywood in 2005. The DVD is predominantly geared towards families and is made up of several inspirational musical acts; all of which are exceptional, such as the superb pianist Stan Whitmire and Southern gospel harmonisers The Isaacs. In between music sets Mark gets the opportunity to showcase his comedic talent. Brits may find some of the downhome, knee-slapping jollity a little difficult to stomach, but there ARE funny moments contained within. There are cringe-worthy moments too, especially when the assembled multitude sing "The Star Spangled Banner". The highlight for me was Mark's fantastic message towards the end of the show; amusing yet extremely poignant words from "a recovering fundamentalist". It was one of the clearist, most thought provoking and challenging messages I have ever heard. In it Mark highlights the silliness of interdenominational rivalry and exhorts us to continue to love Jesus with all our heart and transform ourselves from the inside; to hate our own sin and not waste vast amounts of time hating someone else's. It's worth buying the DVD just for that message.
