'Deliver Me From Me' is country pop with a strong acoustic bent and some old time instruments thrown in. Mark writes pleasant songs and delivers them in a pleasant style which makes this almost easy listening in style. It's warm, gentle, full of strongly Christian songs and it's obvious that Mark has a heart to minister through song. There's no doubt that there's plenty of material here that will make an impact and if you're a fan of gentle country then this will be well worth checking out. Country is still popular in Canada where he is based and songs like the lilting piano root-sy pop of "You Are The Same" which celebrates the everlasting nature of God and the ballad "The Prodigal" which effectively tells the story of returning to God's security will hit home. "Christ My AH" is taken from a prayer of St Patrick recently immortalised by A Ragamuffin Band, and "Only In You" is a slower but bright pop track with a psalm-like lyric. It's all slickly recorded and Mark Mallet is an effective songwriter.
