A promising national debut from a St Louis worship leader, 'Every Reason Why' demonstrates Mark's talent for writing solid pop-based worship songs, but lacks anything creatively outstanding. The album is filled with accessible and friendly song-writing, and no doubt, has a number of songs that would be well received by any church congregation; "You Are" and "As Long As I Have You" are examples of some of the record's stronger and more memorable offerings. Unfortunately, the record is weighed down by the songs' formulaic likeness not only to each other, but also to the style of too many other modern worship offerings. Despite this, Mark's vocal strength is undeniably impressive and the record acts as a foundation for him to hopefully develop and expand his style.
