As the excellent sleevenote from Mike Rimmer on this box set points out, Martyn is one of the most effective and passionate singer/songwriters of the post-war period and this item usefully brings together three of the Welsh songsmith's albums, namely 'An Aching And A Longing' from 1989, 'Full Colour Black And White' from 1996 and 'Far From Silent' from 1999. Intriguing to hear the original recording of his one chart hit "Dolphins Make Me Cry" while his mid period stuff from 'Full Colour Black And White' is Martyn at his very best. If you are still catching up on the vast catalogue of this hugely talented singer/songwriter I think this is still available through ICC.
