This two DVD set features a two-night sell out concert from Milton Keynes Sables Theatre in November 2004 with some behind the scenes footage and an interview. The concert is predominantly Martyn on his own but he is joined by Nigel Hopkins (keyboards) and Mike Haughton (sax) adding their unique touch to Martyn's powerful and touching songs covering most of his 25 years of composing. The editing is subtle with no quick cuts and while this is not visually stunning, Martyn is not the most animated of stage performers but the music, with its sharp, passionate lyrics, is always arresting. DVDs can never replace being at a concert but this does manage to convey the power and passion of the Welsh songsmith's performance and there are 26 of these well crafted songs spread across the two DVDs. With an interview and quirky behind-the-scenes footage of setting up the gig, this DVD is a must for die hard fans and a great introduction for those who have not yet found out about one of the UK's most enduring singer/songwriters.
