An unexpected re-issue that is a surprise and a delight!. Offered here is a three CD boxed set of recordings made in the '70s featuring the lilting Irish voice of Mary McKee and the equally fine backing by her group Genesis. These oldies prove that British musicians were capable of making good country recordings. I personally have fond memories of listening to Mary all those years ago and there is simply not a duff track on any of these CDs, which comprise a mixture of familiar items, eg, "By The Rivers Of Babylon" and the Glenn Campbell tune "Try A Little Kindness", with many less familiar. My one great disappointment with this release is that the accompanying sleevenotes only list the words to the songs, when I was really looking forward to reading a potted history of Mary McKee, how she came to faith, details of the recordings and what she and the group are doing nowadays. These recordings in my opinion still sound very good 30 years later and that is a tribute to the quality of the originals, and who knows, Mary may yet be tempted back into a recording studio? I certainly hope she does!

Mary Mckee. It's possible that she and her group may not still be alive today, but their solemn, Spirit inspired songs can never be forgotten.

Her "Shattered Dream" and "He came in Love" and "Lord how did it feel"? are ever wonderful and others.

My church choir being a "kind solemn worship church" have rendered many of their songs in church, though a little distorted sometimes.

Please a work on her biography should be done. I want to see her profile on Wikipedia. Please where is Roberts Liardon, the author of all "God's Generals"? Somebody should tell him to do a work on Mary Mckee.

I know she won't miss her reward in her. God bless her.

Where is " they stood in silent prayer"& "in the bleak mid-winter". I think it was this sane group that sang" Xmas with the genesis" album

Mary McKee still remains my favourite Christian Artist since my first encounter with her music in 1988. The tract titled "No Other Plea" has brought tears from my eyes on several occasions which is always followed by prayer of appreciation to God for the His Love for me. ...I NEED NO OTHER ARGUMENT, I NEED NO OTHER PLEA, IT IS ENOUGH, THAT JESUS DIED, AND THAT HE DIED FOR ME. SO goes the chorus to the Hymn rendered with the angelic voice of my beautiful sister - Mary McKee. You are a blessing through your songs and angelic voice.

In deed i am so glad that my heart desire is already in recognition by many. I had search for Mary Mckee's profile in the wikipedia, but could not be found yet, she and her team are the overall best of both the late century and the contemporary world Christian musicians. Unlike the noisy but little or no inspired Christian songs today, her songs are ever alive to this day. All your comments are purely truthful. God bless you all and above all God bless you madam Mary Mckee. Amen.

Mary Mckee and the Genesis are a blessing to us Christians. My parents used to play her songs when I was much younger. Today I'm 25 and the songs never get old. These are the personalities we would love to see being interviewed on TBN and not all the mainstream gospel artistes we see today. I'm also shocked Mary Mckee doesn't have a profile on Wikipedia! Christians really have a lot of work to do. She is greater than many circular musicians yet she isn't so popular on the internet. Her songs never get old. We all should promote her as often as we can. Thanks. My life without Christ is Shattered Dreams.

Mary Mckee has and is still an instrument of inspiration to me, as a young christian in the 80s i used to listen to her songs and they really encourage me in my faith in Christ and even today 27.7.14 i am at work just listening to her songs on youtube.
I do not know if she's still alive, God bless her and her genesis team.

Wow, I'm so excited to read that Mary McKee is still alive. Please where is she and why has something not been written about her life on the internet. I guess such could be a source of inspiration for many. God bless you ma. Your music is truly inspirational and really does not grow old nor wear out.

I think of mary a lot these days don't know why...we were good work friends and while I was broken hearted over a boy I would get her to sing all the sad songs for me we were only 15 or 16 at the time....mary is one of the nicest people anyone could meet and anyone who knows her love her....god bless you mary.
