Singer/songwriter Matt Beckler delivers his own brand of simple acoustic songs. Strip it all away and you have a fine voice singing some fine songs but when you add the alchemy of a vibey atmospheric production and what you get is an interesting intensity which makes you want to find out more. "Come Down" wanders along on an interesting groove building in intensity and then subsiding with plenty going on. "Waiting" is also invested with some vibey guitar work to add a little mystery to what would otherwise be a straight forward bouncy acoustic pop tune. "I Will Sing" takes everything down a little for a jangly prayerful exploration of the grace and mercy of God. "Drown" is similarly jangly and all of a sudden this begins to sound a little more ordinary despite the undercurrents of drum loops and stacked vocal harmonies etc. By the time we get to the closing simple "Blue", I am beginning to lose interest. Good but not amazing.
