I was a next door neighbour and Maurice was brought up with my brother and I. He was a great guy and very much our hero. He would tackle the things we were not able to do. His brother Desy was also a great guy and I believe he had a sister kathleen? Am really sad to hear of his passing. He sold me a record player when he worked in Tughans which was the last time I saw him. Would love a photo if you have one. Play his records always. His mum was lovely lady and made him practice the piano! sometimes he escaped out the window to play games with us all

Hi, I've so enjoyed the hymn tunes played by Maurice McKenzie for nearly as long as I remember. I understand you might have a copyright on them as I published (Hyfrydol) something on my u-tube channel with a hymn I had written. I can't play much myself If you object to the use I can remove it immediately.

I worked with your Dad at Tughan Crane in the early eighties. He was a kind warm hearted man with a very great sense of humour. I was sad to hear of his passing.
Precious memories indeed.

Maurice McKenzie is my dad, and was a renowned church organist in Canada in 1957-63 by day and a jazz pianist by night. He is Northern Irish and has been a church organist and choir master there since 1968.

How woderful. Many years ago whilst on holiday in the Orkney Isles my Dad bought my Mum 'Sunday Evening fire-side Hymns' and she has loved this album ever since. My Father recently passed away so listening to this again has been very emotional.
